Description: American film and television actress Kristin Bauer is best known for her portrayal of the campy vampire "Pam" on HBO's hit show, True Blood.

Bauer presents a multimedia lecture on the situation in Africa, specifically the global genocide of elephants and rhinos in Africa. She tells the current story of the African wildlife and what we need to do to preserve it. After traveling to Africa and filming her experience, Bauer share stories of a people and a culture many of us will never experience firsthand. The program will feature clips from her upcoming documentary on the crisis. With Bauer as a tour guide, audiences will step into one of the last "wild west" frontiers on earth and arguably the most beautiful.

About Late Night Marquette

Mission Statement

Late Night Marquette actively promotes a vibrant campus culture by collaborating with members of the university and Milwaukee communities to provide fun, innovative, and inexpensive programming to students. A diverse group of students and student organizations are key participants in the planning and implementation process, which provides valuable leadership and learning experiences.

Goals

  1. Create places for students to gather and socialize during late night hours
  2. Establish late night programming as part of the campus culture
  3. Incorporate traditional programs into a broader late night programming initiative
  4. Develop new programs that broaden the experiences of students
  5. Build excitement on campus in order to build a stronger Marquette community
  6. Connect students with entertainment opportunities in the greater Milwaukee community
  7. Collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and alumni and encourage all of these groups to share special areas of expertise and talent
  8. Encourage student involvement and leadership
